Forest of the Lost

This was the land all the mother’s told their foals about, these places strewn with beauty, but a darker, colder, more evil king lurks within them. It was by design, probably, that this land was on the edge of all the others, for on the outside it looked beautiful, stunning, almost perfect, but it was not until one began their decent within the Forest of the Lost that they now realized they did not want to be here anymore. The first mile within the territory seemed rather pleasant, light still cut through the canopy and the vegetation even appeared happy and healthy, until your steps came across the first sinkhole. It was here everything seemed to change, the light became less and the vegetation took a turn for the dead. The forest opened up, after two or three more miles of dead trees and sinkholes, to a desolate looking meadow, the flowers that covered it were only standing seemingly because they were forced to, and all were oddly bending towards the forest, as if trying to escape from this place as well, as ones feet passed through the flowers, towards the center of the meadow, the true nature of the land forming, there right before your eyes. Large caverns littered the center of the meadow, some easy to access, others… not so much. A deep hole filled with water was towards the center and it was the lands only water source. All the caves only had one entrance, and that was at the surface, the slave cave held multiple small rooms within, perfect for storing Slaves.
