Cedar
The knight listened to his King with his undivided attention and smiled as Altair mentioned Ace. He also noticed that Altair knew that Cedar had already developed a softness and bond with the colt that would be hard to break. Cedar actually couldn't wait to start teaching Ace all that he knew as a Knight of the Old Code.
As he continued to listen, Cedar's ears perked at the prospect of the King's Guard. He was a Knight through and through but to become one of the Altair's personal knighted guards would be an honor that Cedar had always dreamed about since he was about halfway through his training.
King Altair continued to state the rankings of the herd, which Cedar was grateful to hear as it really would help him teach Ace better. He was pleased to hear that the herd would eventually have a Priest and a Priestess. He wasn't the most religious of horses but he did believe that the Gods looked after them the best they could. When Altair came to the part about how the herd had Sevants and not Slaves, Cedar was slightly shocked but not suprised given how Altair was also a horse from the Old Ways. Slavery was always an issue with horses and yet nothing had ever been done. Cedar believed that every horse did have their place and though he does believe in that Slaves and Servants are meant to be Slaves and Servants, Cedar never tolerated cruelty, ever. When Altair mentioned the Prisoners and that no one was above that station, not even himself, Cedar nodded and said, "I understand, thank you for explaining all of this to me. I will use this information as wisely as I can." His respect for his King also went up immensely.

[glow=red,10,500]Altair[/glow] The king nodded as Cedar spoke. "You are welcome, Sir Cedar. It is important to have my Knight know about the Order's rank's and it will help when you train Ace." He said as he smiled. He knew that it would take some time, but eventually he hoped that this herd would be as large and grand as his order once was.
"At this moment, my main concern is getting more members. After all, a herd cannot survive without them." He paused as he watched a bird take to the skies. The bird, an Eagle, often reminded Altair of himself. Strong and, often, proud but loyal. That was how he was and that was how he wanted his herd to end up.
"I have been going to the slave auctions to see if there are those who could become apart of the herd, but no luck as of yet. That is why it is apparent that we keep an eye out for any horse wandering the desert." He said as he looked at Cedar. It was important to get members to come to the oasis. It was also a mercy of sorts because the Fey desert was often cruel with little food and even little water.
"If you see anyone in the area when on your patrols, make sure to offer to take them to water...for there is outside of the oasis." He said as he noticed where Blaze and Ace were.
"I believe that that is all I need to talk about for now, Sir Cedar, and your...charges...seem to have found a cave in their liking. You may go and see to them now. We will talk later." He said as he dipped his head ever so slightly, dismissing the Knight with the nod.

Cedar
The knight nodded, "That is completely understandable, Sir." He said to both about the training of Ace and of the need for more members. Cedar also replied to the fact that Altair had been checking the Slave auctions pretty regularly but with no luck was also a suprise but not a shock. Altair probably came from an area where saving as many slaves as possible wasn't an issue at all. Which was really good, Cedar thought with pride and happiness.
"Of course." Cedar replied, a firm believer in the fact that all horses should have access to clean and fresh water and was glad that Altair thought the same thing. The more he found out about his new king, the better he liked the older stallion. Cedar looked towards where Blaze and Ace had gone to look for a cave and was pleased with the positioning and was instantly filled with a warmth and pride in his little 'family'. "Very well, if you ever need me, just let me know, King Altair." Cedar bowed low and deep before making his way over the Blaze and Ace. ooc: new thread?
