[glow=purple,2,300]Blaze[/glow] Blaze looked around a moment before she slowly continued her way to Cedar. She was still a bit shaken by her dream and it was easily visible. "I am just worried..." She spoke softly as she sighed. "I am sure that Talon is not far away and I am unsure what he will do if he sees me with you and little Ace." She said shivered a bit. Above all, she was afraid that Talon would harm her new companions. She would never forgive herself if anything happened to either of them. "You have been very kind to me and I do not wish to see you or Ace hurt for being around me." She added as her head dropped a bit. [glow=red,2,300]Ace[/glow] Ace huffed as he slept peacefully; totally unaware of what was going on around him. He was dreaming about being with Cedar and Blaze; living happily as a family. It was his perfect dream.

Cedar
"I have been in training since I was a foal. Being a knight of the Old Code is something that flows through my veins. I know how to fight and how to protect others while not causing undue pain and suffering on my enemies." Cedar informed Blaze, trying to sooth her while also helping her to realize that though Talon may be tough and brutal, he probably never had had the training that a knight goes through. "Haas Talon trained as a knight or knows how to fight an opponent properly? There is a difference between that and just being downright cruel and brutal."
While he had been talking, the stallion had checked on Ace who seemed like he was sleeping very peacefully, which was always a good thing.

[glow=purple,2,300]Blaze[/glow] Blaze shook her head slowly. "I did not know him long...but I don't believe so. However, I know that he never had respect for the Old Code. He believed that it was something that no longer applied in today's times." She said as she looked at Cedar. She had noticed the stallion check on Ace and she couldn't help but smile internally at that. "You care for him...don't you." She said as she nodded her head towards the slumbering foal. Even though she asked it as a question, she knew in her heart that he did, if fact, care for Ace. She knew that most stallions would not think twice about their own foals; much less an little orphan like Ace. A cold breeze swept over the land; making the young mare shiver slightly. She looked over at Ace to make sure he was still comfortable and was relieved to see that, despite the sudden wind, he was sleeping soundly. [glow=red,2,300]Ace[/glow] Ace smiled in his sleep as he dreamed. When the wind swept over the land he was unaffected by it. He was dreaming of becoming a knight like Cedar and protecting those who were too weak to protect themselves. He knew that that was what he wanted to do; help people that couldn't help themselves. ooc: Hey I was wondering if you are gonna finish Talon's bio?

Cedar Feel the chains fall away Feel the heaviness fall away
"And that is why the Herds and everything around us are falling apart. The knights are supposed to keep order as well as the Priests and Priestesses but no knight today wants to follow the Old Code and it's a very sad thing." Cedar replied with slight annoyance but mostly saddness in his voice. He did not like seeing the world around him dying and no one doing anything about it.
Blaze's question suprised him but he understood where it had come from, "Yes I do, I want a family someday and why not care for an orphan when no one else will do so. Better I take him under my wing then him become a slave." He looked at the mare curiously, "Do you not care for Ace as well? Just from the little time we have all spent together?"

ooc: Hey Do you want me to make a thread where Cedar, Ace, and Blaze come across the desert oasis and meet Altair? [glow=purple,2,300]Blaze[/glow] Blaze listened to the stallion speak of how herds were now days and she found herself agreeing to what he was saying. She had seen the problems within the land first hand with Knights not helping those they should and Kings being cruel rather than understanding. She knew all to well that the world she had once known has fallen apart. "I agree with you Sir Cedar." She paused for a moment before continuing to speak. "This world is not the same without the Old Code and there are very few Kings that continue to enforce the old laws. I do hope that, eventually, a King will come forth that will help to restore balance to the land." She added as she sighed slightly. It was then that she realized that she had been speaking quite openly with Cedar; something that she had not been able to do since her abuse. It actually made her a bit nervous, but happy all the same. 'Maybe I am getting over my fear? No...Maybe it's just because being around Cedar makes me feel comfortable.' She thought to herself as she glanced at him.
"I do care for him. How could I not? He has so much courage and strength despite all that he has gone through in his short life." She said as she smiled over at Ace. She knew that she, already, loved Ace as if he was her own. It was Cedar's answer that made Blaze what to know more about the stallion. "Are you bound to a Herd right now Sir Cedar?" She asked the curiosity getting the better of her.

Cedar
The knight nodded, agreeing with what Blaze was saying, "Yes we do need a King that will step up to the plate but it needs to be more then a King. I don't think just one horse will be able to change all of Feyllia. I think it needs to be a movement that sparks a fire and spreads throughout the Herds." Cedar thought for a moment and continued on slowly and sadly, "I also think that that will not happen anytime soon."
Cedar looked at Blaze's expression and body language and smiled gently and that smile slowly faded slightly, "Unfortunately no. The herd I was raised in became corrupt and I do not think I am welcome there anymore. I have also recently finished my training, so I am without a herd. I do plan on finding one for you and Ace together if you wish. I doubt a herd would take me in along with you and the little one." Cedar quickly amended what he was saying though, not wanting to disappoint Blaze and Ace, "But we can always try."

[glow=red,2,300]Ace[/glow] Ace woke up while Cedar and Blaze were quietly talking. Not wanting to disturb his companions, he stood and looked over the horizon as the sun started to rise. He felt as if he was being drawn in the direction of the desert; why he was not sure. 'Maybe we're supposed to go this way?' He thought to himself silently as he started to make his was in the direction that something, or someone, was urging him to go; without a word to Cedar or Blaze. On slightly stiff legs he made his way forward until he was far into the desert and then he realized that he had left his makeshift family behind. 'Oh no...what did I do? Why did I leave without telling them!' He panicked inside of his little mind. He was utterly lost and without any protection to speak of. His best chance, he realized, was to continue to follow this urge to move forward. After a few hours he came to fortress like cliffs; like someone had built walls around a huge area. To his left, close to the rocky walls was a small valley with a tiny stream. Being really thirsty from his walk; he went to the stream to get a drink; still worrying about Cedar and Blaze. 'What if I never see them again?' [glow=purple,2,300]Blaze[/glow] Blaze was overcome with the sudden urge to comfort the stallion in front of her. Slowly she walked up and gently rubbed her cheek against his shoulder. "I believe that everything will be alright. The Gods and Goddess won't turn us away. You just have to have faith." She said quietly as she tried to reassure Cedar. After a moment she realized what she was doing and pulled away; her eyes shocked as she realized her actions. "I-I'm...sorry. I...uh...don't know what...came over me." She scrambled for words hanging her head down; hoping her mane would hide her look of embarrassment. 'Why did you do that Blaze! Now he's going to think that you are some weirdo. Perfect...just Perfect.' She silently berated herself for being overcome with emotions.
During her flush of embarrassment she realized something important. Ace was not sleeping where she had last seen him. 'What? Where is Ace?' She quickly looked all around the river, hoping to see his painted body nearby; but to no avail. Fear washed over the mare as she panicked a bit. "Where Ace!" She said as she looked around in fright.

Cedar [/color][/size] The knight was lost in his thoughts when he felt a sudden touch on his shoulder and he realized it was Blaze and she looked just as shocked by what she had done as he was. Then the mare instantly was trying to apologize. Cedar smiled gently, "I know the Gods will always watch out for us but sometimes it is just so hard to keep faith in them when it just seems like all they do is watch and they probably laugh at us silly mortals instead of helping us." His smile grew even bigger and he replied to her touch by touching his nose against her shoulder, "No need to apologize, Blaze. It was much needed."
In her embarrassment, the mare had bent her head and while she'd done so, she had noticed that Ace was not there. Cedar instantly reacted, taking her word and her reaction. He stayed calm, just as his training had drilled into him. "It's ok Blaze, he couldn't have gotten far. He's a dehydrated young foal. We will find him." He went to where Ace had been sleeping and smelled for the foal's scent. There were tracks as well, which would make it easy for the two horses to follow him. "Follow me, he went this way. If we hurry, we can catch up to him." [/blockquote] ooc: go to next thread?

[glow=purple,2,300]Blaze[/glow] Blaze shook her head at Cedar. "Maybe the Gods are having issues of their own. Everythings seems to be out of balanced right now..." She whispered more to herself than to Cedar, but knew that he could hear.
Cedar calmed Blaze a bit by how he was acting. She had panicked where he had been calm and collected. Of course, she knew that was to be expected from a Knight. She nodded as she looked at Ace's tracks. "Let's just hope we find him safe...Talon is still out there. Not to mention the slavers would love to have the chance to get an unattended foal." She said as she followed quickly next to the stallion; praying that Ace would be okay. ooc: Yep! Next thread lol.
